Erika Bourne, RN, CMTPT
Erika has owned and operated Myofascial Pain Treatment Center, LLC in the Metrowest Boston area for over thirty two years. She is a Registered Nurse and is a Board Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist. In addition to her nursing degree, she completed two years of training at the Academy of Myotherapy and Physical Fitness/Bonnie Prudden School in Lenox, Massachusetts. She started to start her practice in 1986. After 25 years in Waltham, she moved the office to Watertown in 2012. In addition to a full time practice, she is on the faculty of Myopain Seminars, the most comprehensive trigger point needling training program.
Erika is certified in Trigger Point Needling and Manual Trigger Point Therapy by the Janet G. Travell, MD Myopain Seminar Series. She has completed all three levels of the Stecco Fascial Manipulation training and several Master's classes.
She was the President of the National Association of Myofascial Trigger Point Therapists from 2007-2011 and is now an Honorary Lifetime Member, and is a member of the International MyoPain Society, the American Society of Pain Management Nursing, the International Pelvic Pain Society, the Fascia Research Congress, Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses, and the American Nurses Association.
