The first visit will last at least ninety minutes (give yourself 120 minutes in case the appointment runs long). Please note directions and parking info. Also note that the office is on the second floor and there is no elevator, so you must be able to climb up the stairs.
You will bring in the history form that you have filled out at home (see downloadable form page). We will go over your medical and pain history and talk about your symptoms. You will have a chance to ask questions and bring up any concerns you may have.
On the first visit we will do posture, movement and pain assessments. You may wear underwear or bring a bathing suit or shorts to change into. We also have cloth gowns to wear. You may also bring someone with you to the appointment and/or into the treatment room if you feel more comfortable doing so.
After the assessments we will begin treatment. We generally talk during the treatment - there is a lot of information to gather so that I can make suggestions about what you can alter to reduce your pain (such as ergonomic changes, sleep issues, etc). You are always free and encouraged to ask questions.
When scheduling your first appointment, it is recommended that you schedule subsequent treatment times so that you won't have to wait long for a second session.
